William "Billy" McDaniel

RIDGEVILLE - William L. "Billy" McDaniel, 68, went to heaven on Saturday, July 2, 2016 after a brief illness. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at AVINGER FUNERAL HOME, 2274 Eutaw Rd., Holly Hill. Burial will immediately follow in the Holly Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. this Monday July 4, 2016 at the funeral home. Billy was born in Dillon County, a son of the late William J. McDaniel and Ethel Lee Meekins McDaniel. He was a retired Engineer with Davis Electrical Contractors and a Methodist. Billy was a Mason, and a member of the Scottish Rite and Omar Shrine. Surviving are his wife of 33 years, Peggy Owens McDaniel of Ridgeville; sons, William S. (Keisha) McDaniel of Graniteville, and Jeff (Angie) McDaniel of Greenwood; a brother, Steve (Wendy) McDaniel of Latta; grandchildren, Jensen, Jackson, Sabrina, and Ryan McDaniel, and Trey Copeland; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family would like to thank Hospice of Charleston for their care of Billy. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Hospice of Charleston, 4975 LaCross Road, Suite 200, North Charleston, SC 29406, or a charity of choice.
