Wayne W. Rush

HOLLY HILL - Wayne W. Rush, 84, of Holly Hill, died Monday, April 1, 2014 at the Veteran's Victory House in Walterboro. A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Sunday at Avinger Funeral Home. Burial will be private. A native of Ohio, Mr. Rush was an Army veteran of the Korean War and was retired from Landoll, Inc. After moving to South Carolina he worked at Rocks Pond Campground and at the Orangeburg County Collection Site on Branchdale Hwy. Mr. Rush was a member of Holly Hill United Methodist Church, and was preceded in death by a son, Tom Rush. Surviving are his companion, Eva Clair Funches of Holly Hill; a step-daughter, Doris Hope Murray (Cal) of Holly Hill; daughter, Wendy Taylor of Ohio; step-son, CE Jewell of Ohio; a sister, Sevia Bowers of Ohio; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
