Virginia Metts HARLEYVILLE - Virginia Weatherford Metts, 61, wife of Ronald G. Metts, of the Duncan Chapel Community, Harleyville, died Monday, September 26, 2011 at the Trident Medical Center. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Avinger Funeral Home Chapel,Holly Hill, with the Rev. Craig Crosby officiating. Burial will follow in the Duncan Chapel Cemetery. Mrs. Metts was born May 10, 1950 in Moncks Corner, a daughter of the late Jessie J. Weatherford and Lois Yount Weatherford Hopkins. She was a home maker, attended Duncan Chapel United Methodist Church, and loved her family and friends. She was predeceased by a brother, John Henry Weatherford. She is survived by her husband, of the home; a daughter, Jessica Metts of Summerville; a son, Ronald G. "Ron" (Wendy) Metts, Jr. of Harleyville; a sister, Sylvia "Bean" Weatherford of Eutawville; brothers, William Weatherford of Eutawville, Larry Weatherford of Walterboro, Lewis "Bookum" Weatherford of Orangeburg, Jimmy Weatherford of Eutawville, and grandchildren, Mason, Rabecka, Destaney and Brandon. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Avinger Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Duncan Chapel UMC, C/O Mrs. Claudia Hart, 216 Harts Road, Bowman, SC 29018.
