MT. PLEASANT - Mrs. Theo Wells Harrison, 92, of Mt. Pleasant, wife of James H. Harrison, died Wednesday, March 2, 2011. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Corinth Baptist Church, 1910 Camden Road, Holly Hill, with Rev. Buddy Locke officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends an hour before the service at the church. Mrs. Harrison was born December 11, 1918 in Winnsboro, a daughter of the late Dr. Lionelle D. Wells, she grew up in Orangeburg County, and was a graduate of Providence High School and Winthrop College. Mrs. Harrison taught in the Orangeburg schools and at Appalachian State College, and later retired from teaching from the Charleston County schools. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, a national teacher's organization. She enjoyed traveling having been to Europe, including Germany and France. Mrs. Harrison collected Demi-Tasse Cups from all over, and also enjoyed collecting recipes and recipe books. Surviving are her husband of Mt. Pleasant; a daughter, Beth W. Harrison of Mt. Pleasant; a son, Dr. James H. (Beth D.) Harrison, Jr. of Charlottesville, Va.; grandchildren, Patrick Wells Harrison of Charlottesville, Va., and Rebecca D. Harrison of Atlanta; a sister, Mrs. Marjorie W. Jagar of Orangeburg; and a brother, Dr. Lionelle D. Wells, Jr. of Boston, Mass.
