Susan Harris Hanes of Eutawville, South Carolina passed away Friday, June 22, 2018. She was born October 19, 1956 in Gainesville, Georgia to Thomas Edwin and Margaret Harris.
She was predeceased in death by her husband, John William Hanes, Sr and is survived by her children John William Hanes, Jr (Rachelle) of Meeker, Oklahoma and Melissa Hanes Cawthorn (Robert) of State College, Pennsylvania; also, her three grandchildren, Roxie Jean, Riley Jane, and John William III. Additionally, surviving her are her loving parents and brothers and their families.
She will be remembered by her community as a teacher and confidant, but mostly a friend. Her family will remember her as a fun-loving aunt, an amazing sister, a beautiful daughter, and an awesome mom.
A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at 11 AM at Holly Hill First Baptist Church. The family will receive friends after the service at the front of the church. A private inurnment will be held at a later date.
We shall carry her memory in our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Holly Hill Cemetery Fund c/o Post Office Box 2, Holly Hill, SC 29059.
