EUTAWVILLE - Steve M. Singletary, 74, of Eutawville, husband of Mic Singletary, passed away Monday, May 16, 2016. Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Thursday at Sandridge Baptist Church with Rev. Owen Hill officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chad Hill, Shane Saulisbury, Lance Saulisbury, Richard Cummings, Rhett Cummings, Joe Ervin, Robert Rhame III, and Robbie Pottharst. Steve, or "Slim" as he was known, was born in Holly Hill, a son of the late Stephen Frederick Singletary and Mae Grooms Singletary. He attended Holly Hill High School and retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard as a nuclear pipefitter in Shop 56. An avid outdoorsman he enjoying hunting, fishing, and playing golf. Steve was preceded in death by a son, Stephen M. Singletary II. Surviving are his wife, Mic of Eutawville; a daughter, Penny S. Hill (Bennett) of Lebanon; a son, Huey Mitchum of Daytona Beach, Fla.; brothers, Rembert Singletary (Betty) and Belvin Singletary, all of Holly Hill; grandchildren, Shanna Saulisbury (Shane) of Lebanon, Chad Hill (Ashley) of Lebanon, Ashley Fisher (Steven) of West Virginia, and Kayce Singletary of Atlanta; great-grandchildren, Lance Saulisbury, Kyler Fisher, Parker Fisher, Abbie Saulisbury, and Holden Hill; and a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at home in Eutawville from 4 to 7 p.m. this Wednesday evening. Memorials may be made to Sandridge Baptist Church, 4677 State Road, Ridgeville, SC 29472.
