Sandra "Sandi" Brunson Weathers

BOWMAN- Sandra "Sandi" Brunson Weathers, 74, widow of D. Oliver Weathers, Jr., passed away September 15, 2017 at her home. Funeral services will be 11 am Wednesday, September 20, at the Bowman Southern Methodist Church with Pastor Tony Curcio and the Rev. Dr. Bill Davidson officiating. Burial will follow in the Bowman Memorial Cemetery. Family will receive friends 5 to 7 pm Tuesday at Avinger Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Rusty Brunson, Will Brunson, Wally Matkovich, Stephen Weathers, Dwight Stokes and Tommy Brunson. Mrs. Weathers was born in Charleston a daughter of the late Stannie L. Brunson and Stella Bishop Brunson. She was raised in Berkeley County and graduated from Macedonia High School in 1960. She graduated from Orangeburg Regional School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse in 1965. She retired from DHEC as a home health nurse and program manager for 28 years. She was member of Bowman Southern Methodist Church. She enjoyed baking, traveling, and watching sports. She was predeceased by a daughter, Scarlet Olivia Weathers and brothers, Billy Brunson and Stanley Brunson. Survivors are a daughter, Tara W. Stokes of Blythewood; a son, Trey (Stacy) Weathers of Bowman; grandchildren Dwight, Ben, and Luke Stokes, and Taylor Weathers; a sister, Fay Shivley of Jamestown; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to say a special thanks to caregivers Deborah Jones, Celian Goodwin and Georgia Mosley, and to Hospice Care of South Carolina.
