BOWMAN - Mrs. Rosalyn Hutto Weathers, wife of James M. "Jimmy" Weathers, Jr., passed away Saturday, January 2, 2016 at their home in Bowman.Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bowman Southern Methodist Church with Rev. Billy Griffith and Pastor Ronnie Spires officiating. Burial will follow in the Bowman Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Randy Boland, Larry Smith, Craig Patrick, Spencer Hutto, Chris Huff, Reggie Hutto, Michael Rast, and Richard Thomas. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Bowman Southern Methodist Church Young Women's Missionary Society. Rosalyn was born in Manning, a daughter of the late Alva Dantzler Hutto and Nancy Spencer Hutto. She was a graduate of Holly Hill Academy, Anderson University, and University of South Carolina. Rosalyn was a member of Bowman Southern Methodist Church and a member of the Young Women's Missionary Society. She was a teacher for 33 years, three at Carver-Edisto Middle School and 30 years at Bethune Bowman Elementary School. After retiring, she continued to work part-time at Bethune Bowman Elementary School. Rosalyn was preceded in death by a brother, Reginald Arnold Hutto of Holly Hill. Surviving are her husband, Jimmy, of Bowman; a daughter, Brett Tarrant Weathers of Greenville; a son, James Brandon (Laura) Weathers of Alexandria, VA; a sister, Jane Hutto (John) Sikes of Vance; a brother, William S. (Joyce) Hutto of Pinopolis; sister-in-law, Patricia Farland Hutto of Holly Hill; sister-in-law, Joyce Weathers (Larry) Rast of Trinity, NC; several nieces and nephews and many friends. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. this Monday at Avinger Funeral Home, Holly Hill, and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Connie Maxwell Children's Home, Brookland Campus, 3105 Five Chop Road, Orangeburg, SC 29115.
