Richard Fairfax Campbell of Elloree was born on March 4, 1946, on a railcar in Casa Grande, Arizona, to the late Louis Wilbert Campbell III and Mary Nyroth Campbell. He passed away on January 9, 2026.

Rich proudly served in the United States Army for eight years, including three tours of duty in Vietnam. During his military service, he was awarded the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm, the Bronze Star Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and the Sharpshooter Rifle Qualification Badge.

Rich enjoyed spending time with his family and his beloved dogs, Murray, Sully, and Luna, as well as caring for his rescued stray cats.

Rich was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.

Rich is survived by his wife, Jackie Campbell; his sons, Jason Campbell (Kathleen) of Tennessee and Jeremy Campbell (Traci) of Summerville; his stepdaughters, Michelle Britt (Jesses) of Walterboro and Milissia Winn (Chad) of Holly Hill; and his grandchildren, Richie Campbell (Christina), Samantha Thompson, Monique Thompson (Thomas), Melissa Hilterbrand (Hunter), Krissy Miska (Nathan), Sheena Thompson, and Aaron Winn (Adrianna). He is also survived by several great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held privately.
