Ralph R Stone, Sr.

Santee- LTC (Ret) Ralph R Stone, 88, husband of Martha Tisdale Stone, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday afternoon, March 29, 2020, at his home in Santee, SC.
Mr. Stone was born on October 18, 1931 in the Hannah Community, Florence County, SC, son of the late Cedrey Rupert Stone and Annie Mae Poston Stone. He graduated from Hannah High School and Clemson University. He was a veteran of the US Army who as an aviator flew fixed wing airplanes and helicopters. He served in numerous locations to include Alaska, Korea and two tours in the Republic of Vietnam. He retired after 22 years with the Army, then worked for the private sector and Federal Government (Civil Service) as a Safety Inspector before retiring in 2005. He was also a member of the Santee Presbyterian Church.
Ralph resided in Santee for 36 years and is survived by his wife of 67 years, Martha Tisdale Stone; his son, Ralph Jr.; his granddaughter, Jacqueline Danielle Stone Islas (Michael Sr.); a great grandson, Michael Scott Islas, Jr.; his brother, James L (Dee) Stone; sisters, Donnie Mae Coker, Patricia (Ray) Prosser, and Exie Debbie (Mac) Turbeville; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Gwendolyn Stone Jordan and Sherry Stone Baxley.
Due to the Covid-19 Coronavirus, a private funeral service will be held at the National Cemetery in Florence, SC.
