Eutawville- On Tuesday, August 20, 2019, Paul Larry Stroman, loving husband and father of two children passed away at the age of 77. Larry was born on December 31, 1941 in Orangeburg to the late Paul Mack and Ray Olivia Thompson Stroman of the Four Holes Community in Orangeburg County.
In 1964, he received a degree in Agricultural Engineering from Clemson College, was commissioned as Second Lieutenant in the US Army and served as a Birddog (L19) Pilot in Vietnam. On August 30, 1964, he married Mary Brenda Jaques. After his military service was completed, he and Brenda moved to Denmark, SC and Larry went to work for South Carolina Electric and Gas (SCE&G.) After retirement, he and Brenda moved to the lake in Eutawville, SC, where he resided until his death. Larry was a member of the Masons and the Lion's Club. He was an active member of Bethel Park United Methodist Church in many capacities.
Larry is survived by his wife, Brenda of the home; two children, Melissa "Missy" (Jeff) Leisure of Devens, MA and Paul Jaques (Liberty) Stroman of Cramerton, NC; and four grandchildren, Jeremy Ray Leisure, Sean Casey Leisure, Paul Tanner Stroman, and Porter Jaques Stroman.
He was known for his willingness to help anyone in need and his awesome golf game. He was a pillar of strength, support and discipline to his family. He loved tinkering with anything mechanical. Larry had a love of this beautiful country and a great desire to see it all. He will be missed by all.
A Celebration of Larry's life will be held at 4 pm on Saturday, August 24th, 2019 at Holly Hill United Methodist Church with Reverend Cooper Stonestreet officiating. The family will greet friends following the service. Memorials may be made to Holly Hill UMC, P.O. Box 398, Holly Hill, SC 29059.
