Mary Jennings Rickenbacker

Mary Stuckey Jennings Rickenbacker, 80 of Holly Hill, South Carolina, passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2022.

Born on March 29, 1942 in Sumter, SC was a daughter of the late Margaret Hodge Jennings and Henry Jennings.

Mary worked as a Medical Secretary for Dr. Culbertson for 30 years and Dr. Hare for 20 years.  She will be remembered by her family for her strong work ethic and her love of her family.  She was a very simple lady who enjoyed her bird and many cats.

Mary is preceded in death by parents; husband, Richard Stokes Rickenbacker, Sr.; sister, Margaret Lee Bartholomew and stepsister, Frances Russell.

Mary is survived by sons, Richard Rickenbacker (Amy) of Harleyville, and Henry Rickenbacker of Donalsonville, Georgia; sister, Cathy Jennings of Sumter; sisters in law, Doris June Avinger and her husband, Buddy of Holly Hill and Judy Rickenbacker of Holly Hill; grandchildren, Clint, Christina and Ryan; and great grandchildren, Aiden and Axl.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 24, 2022, from  2:00 PM -  3:00 PM at Avinger Funeral Home, 2274 Eutaw Road in Holly Hill, South Carolina. 

Funeral services will be held at  3:00 PM on Sunday, July 24, 2022 at Avinger Funeral Home, 2274 Eutaw Road in Holly Hill, South Carolina. The burial will be held at Holly Hill Cemetery in Holly Hill, South Carolina.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ASPCA or any Animal Rescue Charity.
