EUTAWVILLE - Malcolm E. "Dutch" Brogdon, 89, of Eutawville, widower of Edna Huggins Brogdon, died Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at his home. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Avinger Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Greg Gadson officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Harleyville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. this Saturday at the funeral home. Dutch was born in Dillon, SC, a son of the late David Shep Brogdon and Iola Bain Brogdon. He was retired from the US Navy and the Charleston Naval Shipyard. Dutch was a member of Holly Hill United Methodist Church. Surviving are daughters, Brenda Westerberg of Eutawville, Rena (John) Pieniadz of Harleyville, and Kathy (Bill) Parenti of Seabrook, TX; a son, Bubba (Karen) Brogdon of Rock Hill; grandchildren, Stephanie Harrelson, Andy Westerberg, Sarah Hagen, Michelle Carter, Matthew Parenti, Alyssa Lynn, Brayden Brogdon, and Madison Cherry; and nine great-grandchildren.
