Lynn Hancock Kaskin

Lynn Hancock Kaskin, age 76, passed away peacefully at home March 2, 2023. She was born December 5, 1946 in Wilmington, North Carolina. Lynn was predeceased by her parents Hoyle H. Hancock and Merle Livingston Hancock, and her brother Keith Hancock.

Lynn is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, Kirk Kaskin; the loves of her life, her two daughters, Kim Kaskin-Couto (Kevin) and Kelly Cone (Tim); her four precious grandchildren Logan Kaskin, Emma Couto, Thames Couto, and Addison Cone; nephew Casey Hancock; and her “Sissin” Patsy Hancock Brown.

Lynn grew up in Augusta, Georgia most of her school age years. However, she moved to Hampton, South Carolina during high school. Lynn is a graduate of Wade Hampton High School, class of 1965. Hampton is where she met and married her soulmate, Kirk.  The newlyweds settled in Charleston for a few years, and eventually built and made their home in Eutawville. Work and children brought the family to Summerville, for 9 years; ultimately retiring back to their home in Eutawville on beautiful Lake Marion.

Lynn had various jobs throughout her young life. She worked at Westinghouse, Greyhound, and the United States Post Office to name a few. However, her proudest achievement was returning to Cosmetology School and receiving her certification. She was a hairdresser for over 20 years in Summerville.

Lynn was the sweetest, most nurturing, kindest person. She had a smile that would light up a room. Her greatest gifts in life were her 2 daughters and then her 4 grandchildren.  She was a devoted mother and Mimi to her children and grandchildren and considered a second mom to many more.

Lynn loved to read and bake. She was famous for her banana pudding and German Chocolate cake, to name a few. She loved being a hairdresser, even after retirement. She had her own “Steel Magnolias group” of friends in the lake salon. Lynn loved her girl’s night out and GALS group events. And she loved her daily golf cart rides with her sweetheart Kirk and their beloved dachshund, Holly.

She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
