Lewis Milton "Bookum" Weatherford

ORANGEBURG - Lewis Milton "Bookum" Weatherford, 70, husband of Joyce Weatherford passed away Thursday, June 8, 2017 in an Augusta, GA hospital. Funeral services will be 3 PM Sunday at Avinger Funeral Home with Bishop Douglas Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens, Orangeburg. Visitation will begin at 2 PM. "Bookum" was born in Orangeburg County, a son of the late Jesse Weatherford and Lois Yount Weatherford Hopkins. He attended Pressley Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church, was an Army Veteran and was retired from Starflo, Orangeburg. He enjoyed fishing and going to the mountains. Survivors are his wife of the home; two sons, Lewis Milton Weatherford, Jr. of Santee and James "Tony" (Lizzy) Weatherford of Orangeburg; two step-sons, Jerry Wayne Braxton of Ashland, Ohio and Mike Allen (Erika) Braxton of Columbia; a sister, Sylvia "Bean" (Johnny) Weatherford of Eutawville; a brother, William Weatherford of Eutawville; six grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; a step-great granddaughter; a special Aunt Annette Daniel of Columbia, and special friends Lacy and Briley Jeffcoat of Neeses.
