Lamar Arie Martin

SANTEE - Lamar Arie Martin, 81, of Santee, died Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at home in Santee. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. this Thursday, May 26, 2011 at the graveside in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens of Orangeburg. Mr. Martin was born in Whitney, SC, a son of the late Wilford Samuel Martin and Venie Hammett Martin. An Army veteran of the Korean War, he was a retired tool and die machinist. He enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Martin was first married to Jessie Martin and was the widow of Laura Jolley Martin. Surviving are daughters, Nancy (Rex) Beach of Clinton, and Vickie (Oscar) Strock of Santee; a son, Tony (Vickie) Martin of Rock Hill; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
