Born on July 10, 1947 in Galax, Katie was a daughter of the late Gladys Johnson Higgins and Howard Higgins.
Katie was a loving wife, mother, and sister. She will be remembered for her wit and will be greatly missed.
Kate is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Glen Walls, daughter, Susie Nicholas, and infant twins.
Kate is survived by daughter, Kari Williams; brother, Donald Higgins; sister, Ella Jane Robinson; and numerous nieces and nephews..
Services will be held privately by the family at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Independence Volunteer Rescue Squad in Independence, Virginia.
