Mrs. Julia Ann DeTreville Knight, 74, of Holly Hill, widow of Harold Knight Jr., died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012. in a Mount Pleasant hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, at Holly Hill United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Cooper Stonestreet and the Rev. Albert Cox officiating. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Live Oak Cemetery in Walterboro. Julia was born in Walterboro, the daughter of the late Julian DeTreville and Frances Helfrich DeTreville. She was a graduate of Walterboro High School and Montreat College. She was a retired administrative assistant with the South Carolina public school system. She was a member of Holly Hill United Methodist Church. Central to Julia's life was her great devotion and faith in God, her family, her dear friends, and her dog, Rebel. She loved growing plants and flowers, and adored her four-legged companions as though they were her children. She dearly loved her children and grandchildren and was exceptionally proud of her growing family. Surviving are daughters, Ann Aura Knight of Switzerland, Maria Fitzharris of Mount Pleasant and Pearl Stringer (Tate) of Los Angeles; a son, William H. "Billy" Knight of Mount Pleasant; grandchildren, Marco Knight and Brian Knight of Switzerland, Jennifer Knight and Katie Knight of Huger, Skylar Stringer and "Baby on the Way" Stringer of Los Angeles, and Ciara and Sean Fitzharris of Mount Pleasant.
