John Woodard Simpson

John Woodard Simpson, age 80, of Eutawville SC died on Saturday, August 11 2018. He was born in Hertford, North Carolina on November 30, 1937 to the late John Spurgeon Simpson and Mabel Cross Simpson. John liked to fish and hunt and was an original member of the Eutaw Hunting Club. He loved to garden and planted a huge vegetable garden each year. He was a member and Past Master of the Vance Masonic Lodge and a Past Patron of the Vance Eastern Star and moved his membership to the Ridgeville Chapter 290.
John is survived by his wife of 53 years: Loreen B. Simpson; daughter, Carrie Eleanor Reprogle of Eutawville, SC; sisters: Lynear Cahoon of Deep Creek, VA, and Raye Tomlinson of Lake City, FL; brother: Rudy Simpson of Norfolk VA; 21 nieces and nephews and numerous other family members and friends.
A Family Gathering will be at 1:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Eutawville on Sunday, August 19th, 2018. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 2:00 PM. Masonic and Eastern Star Rites will be rendered at Eastern Star Lodge following the services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Avinger Funeral Home in John Simpson's honor to help with funeral costs and arrangements using the Donate Now button below.
