RIDGEVILLE - Jimmy Joseph Martin, 70, of Ridgeville, passed away, Thursday, February 16, 2017 at his home. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Avinger Funeral Home with Rev. Buck Reeves officiating. Burial will follow in the Eutawville Cemetery. Jimmy was born in Berkeley County, a son of the late Sidney L. Martin and Jannie Weatherford Martin. He was sheet metal mechanic in the Heating A/C industry. Jimmy was preceded in death by his long-time companion, Donna Elliott; sister, Betty Mudgett; and brothers, Roy and Leon Martin. Surviving are a daughter, Sheila Watkins of Holly Hill; a son, Joe Martin of Greenville; step-daughter, Sherry Lester of North Santee; step-son, Shannon Elliott of Ladson; sisters, Irene Zeagler, Lorene Weatherford, and Annie Atkinson, all of Eutawville; brothers, Deedle and Levi Martin, both of Holly Hill; grandchildren, Phillip Watkins, Kayla Ball, Celeste Watkins, Beta Watkins, Paige Elliott, Jessica Harris, and Chris Johnson; and great-grandson, Travis Sweatman III. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. this Saturday at the funeral home.
