Janice Aimone

January 16, 1945 — December 9, 2019

Santee- Janice Aimone, 74, passed away December 9, 2019. She was born in Pekin, IL on January 16, 1945 to the late Bruno and Lillian (Osterman) Aimone. In addition to her parents, Janice was predeceased by her three brothers, Michael A. Aimone, Thomas Aimone and Stephen L. Aimone.

Janice retired from Piggly Wiggly, Hilton Head Island in 2005 after complications with her surgeries. Following retirement, she moved to Holly Hill.

Janice always told the truth even if it wasn’t what you wanted to hear. It was the school of hard knocks and yes, we were told many times how she had to walk for miles in a blizzard to get to school, so suck it up. With that said, she was genuine to a fault, and yet she sugar coated nothing. These words of encouragement, wisdom and sometimes comfort, kept us in line, taught us the “school of the hard knocks” and gave us something to pass down to our children.

Until her health condition made it impossible, Janice was active in life, enjoying hanging with her friends and babysitting her nieces and nephews. Janice loved watching Gene Autry, Texas Ranger and Lone Ranger daily. She could recite almost every episode word for word and explain to you what was going on. She was a great cook who loved to whip something up for you when you came over. Janice treated everyone who came in her home like family.

Survivors include her sister, Eleanor (Spero) Margaris of Tampa,FL; her niece, Theresa Margaris of Tampa, FL; nephew, Jon (Angie) Margaris; lifelong best friends, Patricia (Donnie) Howard; two special nieces, Priscilla Farnsworth and Amanda (Dex) Phillips; three great nephews, Trebor Farnsworth, Colby Mercer and Jaren Farnsworth and two great nieces, Leilah Farnsworth and Autry Phillips.

Janice loved all her family and friends and will be truly missed, but never forgotten.
