Jane Brownlee Russell

Ida Jane Brownlee Russell, 84, of Bowman, South Carolina, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2026.

Born on December 22, 1941, in Moncks Corner, South Carolina, Jane was the daughter of the late Pearl Rudd Brownlee and St. Claire Brownlee. She shared 65 wonderful years of marriage with her devoted husband, Darvis Russell Sr.

Jane was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose greatest joy was her family. She was a dedicated and hardworking woman who spent many years working at the local sewing room before choosing to stay home to help care for and raise her beloved grandchildren. Her love and devotion to her family were evident in everything she did.

Jane found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved flowers, especially roses, and looked forward each year to spending a week with her family at Tybee Beach. She also enjoyed watching NASCAR races, cheering on the South Carolina Gamecocks, and following NFL football, especially her favorite player, Tom Brady.

In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her brothers, St. Claire Brownlee Jr. and Raymond Brownlee.

She is survived by her loving husband, Darvis Russell Sr.; her children, Teresa Inabinet (Jacob), Jarvis Russell (Stacy), and Darvis Russell Jr. (Gloria); her sisters, Virginia Martin and Shirley Sullivan; her grandchildren, Ron Easterlin (Brenda), Don Easterlin (Kimberly), and Travis Russell; numerous cherished great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Avinger Funeral Home, 2274 Eutaw Road, Holly Hill, South Carolina.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at Avinger Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Eutawville Cemetery in Eutawville.
