James Allen “Jamie” Sweatman, Jr., 56, formerly of Holly Hill, passed away on April 23, 2026.

Born August 6, 1969, he was the son of Theresa Kizer Mathis and the late Al Sweatman.

Jamie was preceded in death by his father; his daughter, Macy Sweatman; his brother, Travis Sweatman; and his grandparents, Bub and Margie Faulling Sweatman, and Willie and Vernata Peagler Kizer.

Jamie dedicated over 30 years of his life to serving others as a funeral director, working with several firms throughout his career. He began his journey in the profession while still in high school at Avinger Funeral Home. He was also involved in his family’s business, Sweatman’s BBQ, during the time it was owned and operated by his grandparents and family.

He is survived by his mother, Theresa Kizer Mathis; niece, Brittany Hughes (Wes); nephew, Travis “TJ” Sweatman; aunts, Susan French and Patricia Wolpert (Gary); uncles, Thurman "Dutsy" Kizer and Herman Kizer; a special friend whom he considered a sister, Debbie Thomas; several great nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, May 3, 2026 at 3:30PM, at Bethlehem Southern Methodist Church.
