James "Jim" Alfred Owens

James “Jim" Alfred Owens, 64 of Elloree, South Carolina, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2023.

Born on March 6, 1958 in Los Angeles, CA Jim was a son of the late Joyce Buttrey Owens and John Owens. 

Jim was a musician who loved playing the blues. He taught himself to play by ear at the age of four and taught guitar for many years to others. Jim loved having a good time with his friends, but mostly loved his family.  Jim will be remembered for his love of music.

Jim is survived by daughters, Amanda Castro (Hector) and Katelyn Owens; grandsons, Nathaniel and Clay Johnson; and the mother of his children, Rachael Owens.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ronald Johnson. 

Services will be held Friday, March 3, 2023, at 2PM at Avinger Funeral Home, 2274 Eutaw Road in Holly Hill, South Carolina.
