HOLLY HILL - James Benjamin "Cookie" Cook, Sr., 75, of Holly Hill, widower of "Dee" Cook, passed away on Sunday, August 12, 2012. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Avinger Funeral Home, Holly Hill. Rev. Tommy Dantzler and Rev. Elijah B. McDaniel will be officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Hill Cemetery. Mr. Cook was born June 28, 1937, in Fairfax, a son of the late Ulmer D. Cook, Sr. and Amie Chesier Cook. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, and formerly employed by Holly Hill Lumber, Georgia Pacific, and Santee Portland Cement Co. Surviving are three daughters, Annette (Johnny) Reynolds of Pineville, Patty (Jim) Jeffers of Eutawville, and Lynda Pooser of Pigeon Forge, Tenn.; a son, Jimmy (DeAnna) Cook, Jr. of Green Castle, Ind.; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a long life friend Donald Jackson and his faithful pup, "Tinkie." The family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. this Monday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Carolina Hospice Care, 410 Mill St. Suite 104, Mt. Pleasant SC 29464.
