Jacqueline Rochford Hartford, 79, of Goose Creek, SC passed away on Sunday November 26, 2023, at

her home surrounded by loved ones after a three-year battle with Alzheimers.

Jackie was born in Des Moines, Iowa on May 1, 1944 to Richard and Maxine (Magaurn) Rochford. She

graduated from St Paul Central High School, in MN and attended Mankato State College before starting

her career with Northwest Airlines. Jackie married Robert Hartford on April 24, 1965, in St. Paul, MN.

Jackie and Bob took advantage of Jackie's position at Northwest and enjoyed traveling around the world

making memories. Some of her favorite destinations were Alaska, Hawaii, Switzerland, New Zealand

and Australia.

After moving with her family to Penacook, NH, Jackie ran an in-home daycare for many years. Her

lifelong love of books led Jackie to become a Library Assistant at Merrimack Valley Middle School and

she thoroughly enjoyed her years surrounded by books and students. Jackie later became a Statistician

at the U.S. Department of Agriculture and after a long and varied career she retired in 2006.

In addition to books, Jackie had many interests. She was a Sister of the Priscilla Chapter of Eastern Star

in Boscawen, NH. She loved to bake and won an award for her apple pie at the Penacook Applefest.

Jackie was also devoted to helping others and found joy by volunteering at soup kitchens. After moving

to SC her compassion led her to volunteer at Helping Hands and Hospice. Jackie was also very involved

with her church and was a member of the Genesis Circle and Bell Choir at South Congregational Church

in NH. Jackie belonged to The Dames at Saint James UMC and performed in several of their plays.

Jackie's greatest gift was her love of conversation. She was a social butterfly who formed many

meaningful, life-long friendships over the years.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents and brother Barry Rochford.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Robert Hartford of Goose Creek; two children, Christine (Robert) Kizik of Exeter,

NH, Shawn (Kaye) Hartford of Summerville, SC, six grandchildren -- Carter Kizik, Nadia Kizik, Allyson

Hartford, Madalyn Hartford, Christian Fowler, and Donovan Fowler, and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday December 1st, at Saint James UMC of Goose Creek, SC.

After the holidays, there will be a memorial service at South Congregational Church in Concord, NH

followed by internment at NH State Veterans Cemetery at 10 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH.
