Jacob Nathaniel " Jake " Hunter
February 18, 1929 — November 2, 2020
Jacob Nathaniel " Jake " Hunter, 91, of Ridgeville, South Carolina husband to Jean Bodenheimer Hunter of 49 years, entered into eternal rest on Monday, November 2, 2020, surrounded by his family.
Born on February 18, 1929 in Bamberg County, South Carolina. Jake was a son of the late, Jacob Nathaniel Hunter and Margaret Sue (Wilson) Youmans. Jake was raised by his grandparents growing up and he was very close to them. Jake graduated from High School and then he joined and honorably served with the United States Air Force from which he received an honorable discharge. After his service he went to work for the Charleston Naval Shipyard and retired after 33 years of service. Jake will be remembered for his love of his family, caring for his yard and spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Jacob is survived by sons, Martin Darell Aultman of Summerville, South Carolina and Jacob Wilson Hunter and his partner, Laura of Rockdale, Texas; his grandchildren, Christopher Aultman, Clinton Aultman, Kyle Hunter (and his mother Misty Russell) and Everly Hunter; great grandchildren, Danica Aultman and Sophia Aultman and their mother, Elizabeth Aultman.
Jacob is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Wayne O'Brien Aultman; his grandson, Keith Allen Guidry as well as numerous members of his extended family.
Services to remember and honor Jake's life will be at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at the Sandridge First Baptist Church in Ridgeville with Reverend Owen Hill, officiating. A gathering of Jake's family and friends will be from 3:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. on Friday, November 6, 2020 at Avinger Funeral Home in Holly Hill.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jacob`s memory may be sent to the Sandridge First Baptist Church or the Pressley Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church in Cross.
