One of God’s special children, Harriet Elizabeth Salisbury, passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at the Cedar Street Group Home with Dorchester County Disabilities & Special Needs in Summerville, South Carolina where she was a resident.

Harriet was born November 7, 1938 in North Charleston.  She was predeceased by her father, George Walter Salisbury, her mother, Sarah Chaplin Salisbury, and her stepmother, Jewel Grooms Salisbury.  She was also predeceased by a brother, Thomas (Tommy) Salisbury of Elloree.

Harriet is survived by her sisters, Laura Jones (Tim) of Lexington and Trisha Murphy of Holly Hill and a brother, George Anthony (Tony) Salisbury of Holly Hill.  She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and a special niece, Michele Jones Bowers of Lexington.

A special and loving appreciation to Harriet’s extended family, the Dorchester County DDSN staff for their compassionate care shown over so many years and to Agape Hospice Care for their care provided over the last few months. 

The family will receive friends, Sunday, September 10, 2023 from 2-3PM at Avinger Funeral Home.  A graveside service will follow at the Holly Hill Cemetery.
