George Weatherford

George Julius Weatherford, 72 of Vance, South Carolina, passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2023.

Born on February 22, 1951 in Vance he was a son of the late Myrtle Winningham Weatherford and Julius Weatherford.

George was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed shooting pool. He enjoyed watching the Gamecocks, Braves and the Dallas Cowboys. George was never a stranger to anyone he met. He will be remembered as always being quick with a good joke and laugh. Most importantly he loved his family and was the best daddy ever to his girls.

George is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elaine Weatherford; the mother of his children, Sherry Horner and a sister, Myrtle Ann Weatherford.

George is survived by his daughters, Lynn Elenbark (Gary) and LaVerne West (Kirk); significant other of eight years, Jan Myers and her children Chad Myers (Brenda) and Jamie Kelly (Kenny); Grandchildren, Jessica, Gary, Christine, McKayla, Austin, Jordan, Emma, Dakota, Jessica, Tina, Kara and Casey; great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Izabella, Elizabeth, Nattie, and Annelaine; brothers, James Weatherford (Debbie) and Ernest Weatherford (Kim); sisters, Elaine Nesbitt and Faye Reeves, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Those honoring George as pallbearers will be his nephews, Van Berry, Billy Berry, Jason Berry, Danny Nesbitt, Robbie Weatherford, Troy Weatherford and Daryl Pratt, Jr.

The family will receive friends on Monday, October 2, 2023 from 5-7PM at Avinger Funeral Home and other times at the residence.

The service will be held Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at 1PM in the chapel of Avinger Funeral home. Burial will follow at Eutawville Cemetery in Eutawville.
