George Terry Duncan

George Terry Duncan, 72, of Eutawville, South Carolina, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, June 5, 2024.

Born February 10, 1952, in Miami, Florida, Terry was a son of the late Thora Peterson Duncan and John Thomas Duncan, Sr.

Terry was a skilled craftsman and carpenter whose beautiful work will live on in the many homes of his friends and neighbors. He was a hardworking and decorated Corrections Officer beloved by his coworkers. Terry was a consummate fisherman who grew up exploring the waters of Florida’s Choctawhatchee Bay and surrounding bayous and later fell in love with the lakes of South Carolina. Terry had many exciting stories to tell about his years working the oil rig platforms in the Gulf of Mexico and the oil fields of Nigeria. He was a very successful real estate agent working in the Bluewater Bay area near his hometown.Terry had a special love for the children in his life including his stepson, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. He loved his family and friends deeply. Terry’s smile and laughter were ubiquitous, and he loved to share them freely.

Terry is preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Shirley; his wife, Carole; his sister, Debbie; and his brothers John, Roy, Jay, Jack, and Troy Duncan, Jerry, and Tommy Haire. Terry is survived by his sisters Carol Deditch and Laura Rothrock; brothers, Edgar Nelson (Jane) Duncan and Kevin Haire; nieces Pam Wise, Kathryn Tinder, Jennifer Armstrong, Felicia Duncan, Shannon Bundrick,Tessa Sinkey, Samantha Haire, Katrina Kochan, and Emily Clarrey; nephews Frank Deditch, Jason, Jed, Zachary, Tyler, Chris, and Brett Duncan; and stepson Jamie Karns.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date when Terry is laid to rest with his wife in Sunset Cemetery in Valparaiso, Florida.
