Ernestine C. Garrett HOLLY HILL - Mrs. Ernestine Chance Garrett, 79, widow of Harold Garrett, died Saturday, September 29, 2012 at the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg. The funeral will be 4 p.m. this Sunday at Avinger Funeral Home Chapel with burial to immediately follow in the Eutawville Cemetery. Mrs. Garrett was born in Berkeley County, a daughter of the late Levi "Pete" Chance and Rosa Lee Mills Chance. She was a former member of Galilee Pentecostal Holiness Church, and a former merchant. Surviving are a brother, L.C. (Joan) Chance of Elloree; nieces, Brenda Hinton and Brittany Wilder both of Holly Hill, and Debbie (Jim) Ballou of Bowman; and great-nephews, Jason and Evan Ballou. The family will receive friends before the service at the funeral home beginning at 2:30PM. Memorials may be made to Galilee Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1120 Short Cut Road, Cross, SC 29436.
