Ernest Watkins HOLLY HILL - Ernest Watkins, 85, of Holly Hill, died Sunday, October 14, 2012 at his home. A graveside service will be 4 p.m. Wednesday at Target United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mr. Watkins was born in Holly Hill, a son of the late Fred W. Watkins and Essie Jackson Watkins. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a retired auto sales and repair shop owner. He was preceded in death by brothers, Legree and Buster Watkins, Laurie Lee Browning and step-brother, J.C. Jackson; and step-sister, Mamie Lou Fanning. Surviving are companion, Alice Beard of Holly Hill; a son, Ernest "Bubba" Watkins, Jr. of Walterboro; sisters, Essie Mae Godwin of Charleston, Virginia Thigpen of Manning, Corrie Lee Mizell of Elloree, and Doris Flick of Martinez, Ga.
