Ernest Lee Petty
Born on January 27, 1948 in Baltimore, Maryland Ernest was a son of the late Lilly Williams Krause and Bill Krause.
Ernest served in the United States Navy as a Marine Mechanic. He also served in the Vietnam War. For many years he was a truck driver for several different companies. Ernest enjoyed gambling, telling jokes, and spending time with family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Ernest is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, William Krause and Joey Krause.
Ernest is survived by his wife, Susie Petty; daughters, Wendy Mink, Tabatha Petty (Steven Holloway), Jessica Petty-Hritz; son, Robert Lee Petty; 11 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren, and sisters, Mary Smith and Debra Walter.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, May 31, 2024 at 5PM in the chapel of Avinger Funeral Home, 2274 Eutaw Rd., Holly Hill. The family will receive friends following the service until 6:30PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
