MT. PLEASANT - Ella Lee Cercopely Gaskins, 80, of Mt. Pleasant, wife of Wendell DeWayne Gaskins, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 after 64 wonderful years of marriage. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Avinger Funeral Home in Holly Hill with Rev. John Scott officiating. Burial will follow in the Eutawville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Ella was born in Charleston, the youngest daughter of the late Clarence J. Cercopely and Ruby Cox Cercopely. She was a member of the Historic Church of the Epiphany and the Daughters of the King. She was preceded in death by a son, Larry W. Gaskins; brothers and sisters, Alice C. Williams, Erline C. Dandridge, Virgie C. Kemp, Barbara E. Josafat, Eugene F. Cercopely, Joseph C. Cercopely, William H. Cercopely, George E. Cercopely, Rutledge Cercopely and John G. Cercopely. Surviving are her husband; sons, Dr. John D. Gaskins and Steven E. Gaskins, both of Mt. Pleasant, and Michael C. Gaskins of Duluth, Ga.; daughters, Ruby Lynn Gaskins Locklear of Mt. Pleasant and Tammy J. Gaskins of Columbia; a brother, Harold T. Cercopely of Mt. Pleasant; 17 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
