GREENVILLE - Edward "Ed" Lonnie Parler, 62, of Greenville, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at his home. A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Sunday at the Holly Hill United Methodist Church in Holly Hill with Rev. Cooper Stonestreet officiating. The family will receive friends after the service in the church social hall. Ed was born in Orangeburg County, a son of Julius Lonnie Parler, Jr. and Carolyn Breeland Parler. He attended Clemson University and was a graduate of Charleston Southern University. He was a self-employed family therapist and a lifetime member of Holly Hill UMC. Ed was an advocate of the arts; he enjoyed theatre whether he was the lead character or attending a small play production. Surviving are his parents of Holly Hill; a sister, Lynn Tindal and her husband, Russell of Moncks Corner; a brother, Dave Parler and his wife, Lisa of Gastonia, NC; a nephew Will Tindal of Charlotte, NC; and his beloved dog, Maxwell.
