Dwight Oliver Weathers, Jr.

BOWMAN - Dwight Oliver Weathers, Jr., 78, of Bowman, husband of Sandra "Sandi" Brunson Weathers, passed away July 21, 2017 at his home. Funeral services will be 4 PM Sunday at the Bowman Southern Methodist Church. The Rev. Dr. Bill Davidson will officiate. Burial will be in the Bowman Memorial Cemetery. Family will receive friends 5 - 7 PM Saturday at Avinger Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Rusty Brunson, Will Brunson, Jimmy Weathers, Jay Matkovich, Wally Matkovich, and Stephen Weathers. Mr. Weathers was born in Orangeburg County, the son of the late Dwight Oliver Weathers and Elise West Weathers. He was a member of the Bowman Southern Methodist Church, an Air Force veteran, a graduate of Bowman High School, and a retired auto salesman. The highlight of his life were his children and grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Scarlet Olivia Weathers. Survivors are his wife of the home, a daughter, Tara W. Stokes of Blythewood; a son, Trey (Stacy) Weathers of Bowman; grandchildren Dwight, Ben, and Luke Stokes, and Taylor Weathers; a brother Herman Weathers of Bowman; several nieces and nephews.
