Dr. Thomas Middleton Dantzler

Dr. Thomas M. Dantzler “Doc”, 82, of Goose Creek, South Carolina formerly of Holly Hill passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2023. Born on June 6, 1941 in Orangeburg, South Carolina.

Thomas was the son of the late Harold Edwin Dantzler and Leila Rhoad Dantzler.

Thomas was better known as Tom or Doc and was a retired veterinarian who practiced veterinary medicine at the Goose Creek Veterinary Clinic for 30 years.  Following his retirement from veterinary medicine, he was elected into and served in the South Carolina House of Representatives for 14 years.  He attended Clemson University as well as the University of Georgia, where he received his doctorate in veterinary medicine.  Additionally, he served on the Berkeley County Council and was a charter member of the Goose Creek Rotary Club.

Thomas is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara Jean Suggs Dantzler; and his sister, Sally Annie Dantzler Wimberly.

Thomas is survived by his sons, Thomas Dantzler II (Stacy), Harold Dantzler (Cathy) and John Dantzler (Sandra) and grandchildren, Lauren (Drew), Jack, L.T., Daniel and Caroline.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, August 17, 2023 at 3PM at the Dantzler-Hart Cemetery, Hwy 15, Holly Hill.
