Listen to Obituary

Donna K. Rorabaugh, long-time resident of South Carolina, passed away peacefully at her home near Holly Hill on August 4, 2025. Born in 1937 in Binghamton, NY, she and her family moved to Florida when she was still young. She met her future husband, Philip Rorabaugh, in 1953 at a Youth For Christ camp in Toccoa, GA. They were married in 1956 and celebrated their 69 th wedding anniversary the day before she passed away.

Donna completed one year of college at the Missionary Training Institute (now Nyack College) and later in life became a Certified Nursing Assistant. She was a devoted homemaker and pastor’s wife, living and serving with her family in New York, Florida, Texas, Indiana, and South Carolina. In addition, she was co-director of Child Evangelism Fellowship of Martin County, Florida. She served in the pre-press department of World Missionary Press, producing free scripture booklets. Having learned those skills, she later served as a printing press operator for Foundry Press in Orangeburg, and for another local company.

The occupation that was closest to her heart was being a talented handcraft artist. She found joy in creating crafts of many types, and was often seen with a crochet needle or a paint pen in her hand. She enjoyed selling her creations at craft fairs, and loved to give them as gifts to friends and family. Her love language was probably giving gifts that she had made herself.

Donna loved to sing, and was an active member of the Holly Hill Music Club and the Eutaw Garden Club. She gave generously of her time as a volunteer: teaching at a cerebral palsy center, and visiting and assisting individuals with disabilities and shut-ins in her community. She was known for having a heart to serve others.

She was the beloved daughter of the late Stanley and Esther Davis King, and is survived by her husband of 69 years, Philip Rorabaugh. Donna is also survived by her brother, Dean King; her children: Debbie (Lynn Ecklebarger), Diane, Dan (Susan Rosen), and Don (Kay Smarr); and her beloved grandchildren: Eric (Amie Kyle), Dustin (Julee), Delaina, Jasen Garcia (Jill Smith), Raymond, and Sasha, and great-granddaughters Karissa and Merci. She was also blessed with the addition of 5 grown great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren that she never had the privilege of meeting.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at 2:30 PM at Bethlehem Southern Methodist Church, 237 Bethlehem Road, Holly Hill, SC.
