EUTAWVILLE - Mrs. Diana Danner Stoudemire, 75, of Eutawville, widow of Harry Lee Stoudemire, Jr., died, Sunday, January 11, 2015 at her home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holly Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Cooper Stonestreet officiating. Burial will follow in the Holly Hill Cemetery. Diana was born in Charleston, a daughter of the late Dr. James H. Danner and Marion Larisey Danner. She was a 1957 graduate of Holly Hill High School and graduated from Clemson College with honors in 1963. Diana was one of the first female graduates. She taught English in the SC Public Schools for 56 years. She was a member of the Holly Hill United Methodist Church for 63 years. Her involvement in the church was extensive-former chairman of the trustees, former teacher of the Chapel Sunday School Class, former choir member, former head of the prayer chain, and former secretary of the United Methodist Women. She was active in the prison ministry, missionary encouragement and chosen Woman of the Year in 1998. Diana was totally devoted to God, the Holy Spirit and her family. She loved sun rises and sun sets. In addition to her husband, Lee of 56 years, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Dana Stoudemire Helms. Surviving are a son, Harry Lee "Tripp" Stoudemire, III (Mary) of Holly Hill; a sister, Tina Burger of Huger; a brother, Bubber Danner of Holly Hill; a step-daughter, Prudy Hill (Gary) of Ladson; son-in-law, Robbie Helms of Holly Hill; grandchildren, Dillon Singletary of Ladson, Dustin Singletary of Holly Hill, James Alaxander Stoudemire, II, and Leanna Marie Stoudemire, both of Eutawville, Corey Hill and Taylor Hill, both of Ladson; great-grandchildren, Mara Elizabeth Stoudemire of Eutawville, and Layne Hill of Ladson; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Regency Hospice and especially nurse, B.J. Hiott for the care and concern for Diana.
