Delbert McLone "Macky" Carson

HOLLY HILL- Delbert McLone "Macky" Carson, 65, husband of Paula Welch Carson, died Saturday, June 25, 2011 at a North Charleston Hospital. A graveside service will be 11a.m. Monday at Holly Hill Cemetery with Irene Walters and Linda Jackson Stillwell officiating. Mr. Carson was born October 1, 1945 in Orangeburg, a son of McLone "Mack" Carson and Katherine Jackson Carson Player. He was self employed as a truck driver. He was predeceased by his step-father, William T. Player; a brother, Willie Carson; and a granddaughter, Brittany Laurel Smith. Mr. Carson is survived by his wife, of the home; daughters, Debbie Smith of Goose Creek, Courtney Carson Clayton of Michigan, Donna (Kenny) Thomas of Ruffin, and Melissa (Rob) Roberts of Charleston; sons, Chuck Driggers of Summerville, Mack (Nek) Carson II of Holly Hill, Randall Carson of Holly Hill, and Mark Driggers of Atlanta, GA; a sister,Ethel (Billy) Reed of Orangeburg, a brother, David (Connie) Carson of Harleyville; sister-in-law, Barbara Carson of Branchville; 14 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and his dog, "Little Baby." Friends may call at Avinger Funeral Home from 3 to 5 p.m. this Sunday, and other times at the residence.
