Darrell Lee Strickland, (STUMP) Darrell Lee Strickland, age 62, of Eutawville, South Carolina, and formerly of Whiteville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle.
Born with a love for the outdoors, Darrell was an avid fisherman, often found at Rocks Pond Campground focusing on catfish and bait. He enjoyed working with his hands, building bird feeders and other trinkets that he proudly sold at the campground during peak seasons.
Darrell spent his life as a skilled electrician, traveling across the U.S. to work on power plant rebuilds and new construction projects. His dedication to his craft was only matched by his commitment to his faith. He lived his life for the Lord and was an active member of First Baptist Church of Eutawville, South Carolina.
Darrell is survived by his loving wife, Jody Strickland, his stepson Brad Deland, stepdaughter Amanda Thompson, and five cherished grandchildren. He will be remembered for his hard work, love for his family, and his steadfast faith.
A memorial will be held at his home with his family and friends of the campground. Darrell chose to be with the lord and not be buried. His ashes will be later spread on his favorite fishing spot by his fishing buddy Frank Marlowe and Family.
Jody DeLand Strickland Thanks everyone for the well wishes and heartfelt comments.
