Connie Mack Drum

EUTAWVILLE - Connie Mack Drum, 86, of Eutawville, husband of Dorcas Koontz Drum, passed away Thursday, November 10, 2016 at the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg. A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday in the Holly Hill Cemetery with Rev. Cooper Stonestreet officiating. Mack was born in Hickory, NC, a son of the late Quince Drum and Rose Houston Drum. He was an Army veteran having served in the Occupational Forces following World War II, and the 82nd Airborne Division and the 8th Ranger Battalion in Korea. Mack later served in the 187th Combat Team in Japan. He retired from the FAA. Mack was a member of Hammerton Masonic Lodge, the York Rite, and the Omar Shrine. He was preceded in death by a sister Gloria Evans, and a brother, James B. Drum. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Claudia (Joel) Cook, Martha Hoy and Laura Rowe; sons, Connie M. (Eloise McMillan) Drum, Jr., Curtis (Jin) Drum, and Richard (Marli) Drum; sisters, Brenda Kirby, and Shirley Lail; seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Avinger Funeral Home.
