Chester Jack Field son of the late Charles and Dollie Field of Walters Crossing, PA. passed away and went to the heavenly father in the loving arms of his wife Cindy, and loved ones on August7, 2025.

He was preceded in death by a son Warren E. Field, wife Jocelyn and brothers and sisters, Oliver, Benjamin, Margaretta, Warren, Patrick, June, Charles, Denny Barry Lee, and Jean.

Chester graduated from Redstone High School in 1951 and Park College in 1982 with a BA in Criminal Justice and Management Human Resources. He entered the US Air Force in March of 1952 where he served honorably for 26 and a half years. He retired from Wright Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio on October 1, 1978, with the rank of Senior Master Sargent. He entered the Federal Civil Service System and Served the US Air Force as a Causality Assistance Officer and Chief Personal Affairs for 18 years. In this capacity he was awarded the first Air Force Logistics Commanders Service Award. During his military career he was awarded the Bronze Star, two Meritorious Service Medals, AF Achievement Medal, Occupation of Germany Medal, Vietnam Cross Gallantry with Palm, and numerous other awards and decorations. He was also commissioned a Kentucky Colonel by the state of Kentucky and a Colonel Aide DE Camp, Governors Staff by the state of Tennessee. Chester served his country in Germany, England, France, Norway, Okinawa, Vietnam, Ohio, Maine, and California.

He is survived by his wife Cynthia; daughter Amanda (Beth) of Newport, KY; son Robert of Hynaman, PA; stepdaughters Leighi (Chris) of Auroura, CO and Nora (Dil) of Burke, VA; grandchildren Devon, Jack, Paige, Danielle, and Logan.

Chester was a life member of the American Legion, VFW, DAV, (AMVET), and 32nd Mason. He was a member of the East Orangeburg County Fisher’s of Men and served as president twice and secretary and treasurer for 12 years. He was a member of the Historic Church of the Epiphany of Eutawville where he served as a Lay Eucharist Minister, Alter Guild, and chairman of the church yard committee for 22 years.

A service with Masonic Rites and Military Honors will be held Friday, August 22, 2025, at 11AM at the Historic Church of the Epiphany.
