Charles Cross Hills

HOLLY HILL- Charles C Hills, 82, husband of Sarah Gray Hills, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2017 at home. Funeral service will be 3:30 pm Tuesday, December 19 at Target United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ed Stiltz officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 2 pm until the time of service. Mr. Hills was born in Charleston, a son of the late Betty Moore Hills and Ralph Hills. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War, a graduate of North Carolina State University, a retired consulting forester, a member of Target United Methodist Church, and a former member of the Holly Hill Lions Club. He is predeceased by his first wife, Statia W Hills, and a son-in-law, Patrick Serra. Survivors are his wife; daughters, Martha Serra and Miriam (Robert) Bessent both of Holly Hill; sons, David W. (Christine) Hills of Orangeburg and Randy (Laurel) Hills of Ft. Collins, CO; a sister, Nancy Mahaffey of Murrells Inlet; a brother, Jerry Hills of Hendersonville, NC; 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
