Charles A. "Chuck" Little

SANTEE, SC - Charles A. "Chuck" Little, 67, of Santee, died Friday, March 11, 2011, at his home surrounded by his family. His memorial Mass will be held Wednesday, at 10:00 AM at Saint Ann Catholic Church in Santee. Burial will be private. Mr. Little was born in Adams, Mass., a son of the late George R. Little and Marion Vincelette Little. He received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from North Adams State College and was a retired teacher and principal from Hoosac Valley High School in Adams, Mass. The Littles retired to Santee in 2003 where Chuck became active in the Santee Cooper Resort community. There he served on the property owners' association, was in charge of security, and commodore of the boat club. He was also an active communicant of Saint Ann's Church, serving as a Eucharistic Minister. In his spare time he enjoyed golfing, boating, traveling, and most importantly spending time with his family and friends. Surviving are his high school sweetheart and wife of 45 years, "Millie" Depelteau Little of Santee; daughters, Heidi Coghlan of Summerville, and Heather Little of Charleston; sons-in-law, Vernon Coghlan and David Brown; brothers, John "Jack" Little and his wife, Barbara, and Roger Little and his wife, Lyn, all of Massachusetts and Florida; beloved grandchildren Wilhelmina, Jonah, Lily, Esther, and Elijah; as well as several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Tuesday at their home. Memorial donations may be made in Mr. Little's memory to the Saint Ann Catholic Church, PO Box 250, Santee, SC 29142, or the International Mesothelioma Program at Brigham and Women's Hospital, 75 Francis Street, Boston MA 02115.
