Caroline "Nina" Couch

MONCKS CORNER - Caroline "Nina" Martin Couch, 88, widow of Rev. Gene F. Couch, passed away Saturday, August 27, 2016 in a North Charleston hospital. Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Monday at Moncks Corner United Methodist Church, 200 N. Live Oak Dr., Moncks Corner, with Rev. Michael Rouse and Rev. Michael Wood officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethlehem Southern Methodist Church Cemetery, Holly Hill. The family will receive friends before the service from 1:45 until 2:45. Nina was born in Varnville, a daughter of the late Walter Agnew Martin and Friedericka Thomas Martin. She was a loving, devoted mother and grandmother, and enjoyed bird watching. Nina was an active member of Moncks Corner UMC, and was also active in various civic organizations. She was preceded in death by siblings, Walter Agnew Martin, Jr., Thomas Ward Martin, Sr., and Mary Martin Stoy. Surviving are daughters, Wendy Montgomery and Forrest (Jack) Lowe, all of Moncks Corner; grandchildren, John W. (Kristina) Lowe II of Meridian, Miss., Mary Caroline Lowe of Florence, Morgan (Breydon) Nesbitt of Fayetteville, NC, and Gena Elizabeth Montgomery of Moncks Corner.
