HOLLY HILL - Funeral services for Bobby William Hill, 78, of the Providence Community, Holly Hill, will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Providence United Methodist Church with Rev. Terry Martin and Rev. Karen Starr officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jay Baker, Robert Baker, Arnold Hutto, William Hutto, Barry Hutto, and Charlie Hutto. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of the Faithfull Workers Sunday School Class. Mr. Hill died Thursday, November 1, 2012 at Sarasota Memorial Hospital in Sarasota, Fla. He was born in Bamberg, a son of the late Johnnie Werner Hill and Faye Hutto Van Vleet. A graduate of Providence High School, he was an Air Force veteran, and a member of Providence United Methodist Church. Mr. Hill was a former farmer, a former heavy equipment mechanic at Holly Hill Lumber Co., and retired from Holcim Cement. He built race cars and operated Hill's VW for many years. Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Lane Hill of the home; a daughter, Patricia Ann "Patti" Connor and husband, Randall, of Eutawville; sons, Bobby W. "Bob" Hill, Jr. and wife, Debra, of Vance, and Claude Donald "Don" Hill and wife, Sherri, of Columbia; grandchildren, Megan H. Reiland (Matthew) of Farmington, NM, James Eric Donald Hill (Becca) of Columbia, Elizabeth Ann Hill of Columbia, Candis Faye Connor of Charleston, and Ethan William Connor of Clemson University; and great-grandchildren, Jones Milledge Hill of Columbia, and Luke William Reiland of Farmington, NM. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Avinger Funeral Home, and other times at the home.
