Bobbie J Polk

Bobbie Polk, 86, of Holly Hill, SC, died, Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Magnolia's of Santee. She was born on November 3, 1931 in Saluda County, SC to Thurmond and Georgie Berry Jones. She was a 1952 graduate of Columbia Hospital School of Nursing in Columbia, SC. She also studied at Vanderbilt University in Nashville TN. Bobbie spent 31 years working as a school nurse in the Holly Hill area for Orangeburg County School District 3. She will be remembered for her caring heart, wittiness, strong will, sweet smile, and as "the doctor" of her Holly Hill Russell Street neighborhood.
Left to cherish her memory are Pam F. Simmons (Larry Lavender) of Branchville SC, Cathy F. Hart (Grayson) of Lander WY, Cindy F. Norman (Joe) of Summerville SC; grandchildren: Shanna Bilton (Carmen) of Vance SC, Emily, Andy, and Kayley Hart of WY, Mackenzie Norman of Summerville SC; great granddaughter: Laci Camille of Vance SC; sister: Sue Smith of Saluda SC; longtime best friend: Nancy Bilton of Holly Hill SC; nieces, cousins, numerous loved ones; and beloved granddog: Ceelo.
She was preceded in death by her husbands: Charles Felder and David Polk of Holly Hill, SC.
The family will receive friends at Avinger Funeral Home, 2274 Eutaw Road, Holly Hill SC 29059 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday, July 26 2018. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Avinger Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, July 27 2018 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Cemetery.
