Billy Miles Strickland

VANCE- Billy Miles Strickland, 80, passed away on Sunday, Dec 10, 2017. He was the owner of Strick's One Stop. Billy was a hardworking, energetic, kindhearted husband, father, grandfather and businessman, whose laughter could fill a room with joy. Though are hearts grieve the loss of such a great man, it gives us peace knowing he is with his youngest daughter, Tanya. Billy was born August 9, 1937 in Aynor, SCa son of the late Dexter and Lulabell Strickland. He is survived by his so lovely devoted wife, Sylvia Strickland; daughter Melinda (Bill) Mcalhaney; sons Johnny (Stephanie) Strickland, Billy (Ellen) Strickland Jr.; and a son in law Todd Roberts. 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Billy had six brothers and three deceased. Three sisters and one deceased. And also, four half-brothers and four half-sisters. Billy really loved all of his family. A big thank youto his best friend Hermie Davis "Stump." And his heart had a special place for his "Jackie" Jacquelyn Sharperson. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 Thursday, December 14 at Avinger Funeral Home. Funeral serviceswill be 2pm Friday, December 15 in the funeral home chapel. Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure, you are loved beyond words, and missed beyond measure. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to Fellowship of Praise, 8280 Old Number Six Hwy, Santee, SC 29142 or a church of one's choice.
