Mrs. Billie Jean Boyd HOLLY HILL - Mrs. Billie Jean Bilton Boyd, 70, of Holly Hill, died Wednesday, August 8, 2012 in an Augusta, Georgia hospital. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church with Dr. Ron Heddle and Rev. Earl Behr officiating. Burial will follow in the Holly Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Boyd was born in Eutawville, a daughter of the late Jessie Denver Bilton and Margie Merritt Bilton. A 1962 graduate of Holly Hill High School, she was a member of First Baptist Church and really loved children. She was preceded in death by sisters, Barbara Parler, and Janet Metts; and a brother, John D. "Bubba" Bilton. Surviving are her husband, Gene Boyd of Holly Hill; a daughter, Sandy (Randy) Brown of Vance; a son, Russ Brown of Holly Hill; a sister, Cynthia B. Cox of Charleston; and grandsons, James Brown, Jacob Brown, and John Brown, all of Vance. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. this Friday at Avinger Funeral Home, and other times at the home in Holly Hill.
